Marquette Trail 50
Join us on August 16th, 2025 for the Marquette Trail 50 Ultramarathon in Michigan's Upper Peninsula!
The Marquette Trail 50 consists of a 50-kilometer and 50-mile event held on Saturday. The course is mostly single-track, climbing the 4 peaks: Sugarloaf, Top-of-the-World, Bareback, and Hogback. All the peaks have views of Lake Superior, and portions of the course skirt its shoreline.

Marji Gesick
Marji Gesick is a challenging mountain bike race held annually in Ishpeming, Michigan. The race is known as the hardest single-day mountain bike race in the US, with a mantra of "Find your limits and destroy them." It offers both a 100-mile and a 50-mile (approximately 100k) course, with the 50-mile version featuring about 8,000 feet of climbing and being around 80% single track, 10% two-track, and some paved bike trails or roads. The race is so difficult that about 25% of the 50-mile entrants and almost 50% of the 100-mile entrants do not finish.
Lake Superior Shore Run
Beginning at Little Presque Isle, the half marathon course runs for 1.5 miles along Lake Superior beaches and then passes pristine Harlow Lake. From there it gently winds up 300’ of elevation to views of the Huron Mountain Range from the top of Bareback Ridge. The course then winds back down to Lake Superior for a 1.5 mile stretch of rugged running from Wetmore landing back to the finish at Little Presque Isle. Some sections of the half marathon course are extreme.

Fall Harlowfest
Join us for the Fall Harlowfest Work Bee where we will have a weekend of celebrating the FOHL community and volunteers. Camping, food, beverages, and most importantly trail work.

Marji Gesick
Now in it’s fifth year, the Marji Gesick challenges participants to, as we like to say, “Find your limits. Destroy them.”
We don’t think you can finish in less than 12-hours. Actually we have our doubts you can finish at all. Are you willing to sign the dotted line and take the Danny Hill Challenge? We have a course just itching to break ya.
Ride your bike a lot? That’s cute. We’ve watched a lot of big motors blow up in the first 30-miles. We have rocks up here that will eat your little rocks. Not kidding. Consider yourself a “technical rider”? You will find our definition of riding technical terrain and yours are not the same. On the bright side you’ll get a chance to find out if you enjoy riding in the dark – for hours.
